Born in Taichung , Lin graduated from the National Taiwan Academy of Arts in 1995 with a Bachelor degree of Yangqin performance and earned her Bachelor from Berklee College of Music in 1998.

Since 1989, she had won many awards in

National competitions of Taiwan Chinese instrumental music and Yangqin. In 1994, she performed solo recital in Taipei National Concert Hall. She was then invited by Taichung Government to give solo and duet recital in a trip to Canada and Unite State .

During 1998-2002, Lin worked as an arranger and recording engineer in pop and commercial musical industries while she was the soloist and major composer in Taiwan Yangqin Ensemble.
